Follow Friday #4

Follow and Feature Friday is a bloghop hosted by Alison Can Read and Parajunkee.  This week's featured blogs are Keeping up with Roxy's Books and Anonymous Reads

This week's question:  Keeping with the Spirit of Giving this season, what book do you think EVERYONE should read and if you could, you would buy it for all of your family and friends?

This is a very hard question to answer.  However, I just finised a truly amazing course that covered part of this book, so as a hangover from that inspiration I must say:

Dante's Divine Comedy

Wow.  It just blows my mind.  The man can make multiple classical and/or Scriptural allusions in a single line.  And then he starts alluding to himself.  And then your brain explodes.  I love it.

For kids (in age or at heart):  The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe

For people who think they don't like to read:  Harry Potter

For people who think they don't like to read "old" books:  The Count of Monte Cristo

For people who have yet to fall in love with fantasy...or literature, for that matter:  The Lord of the Rings Trilogy

For anyone who needs a re-affirmation of their faith in love:  Pride and Prejudice

There are so many more...  Which books do you think everyone should read?

Also, check out my earlier post of the first 250 words of my WIP!  See if you can guess Caspric's age, and learn more about Brenda Drake's contest!

  1. Great Choices. New Follower. I still need to read and really want to read the Lord of the Rings Trilogy. It is just really long. Can't wait to get to it. =] And of course HP is a must choice to read. =]

  3. What books should everyone read? TO KILL A MOCKINGBIRD, HARRY POTTER AND THE PRIZONER OF AZKABAN (my favorite of the series), and JANE EYRE. Of course, the more I read, this list might change, though I think TKAM is there to stay. Such a great novel.

  7. I promised a couple of fellow book bloggers I wouldn’t “machine gun” my Follow Friday posts on the blogs I visit but this week’s Follow Friday has inspired me to make an important exception.

The book I think everyone should read is a work of non-fiction called The Four Hour Workweek. The thing is, the book is very well written and entertaining so it reads like a work of fiction. What the book can do to enhance your life and change the way you live day by day seems unbelievable on its face which might mark it a legitimate work of fiction for the skeptics out there.

If you read this work of non-fiction and really follow the advice it gives and apply the insights you’ll gain, your life will read like a modern tale fairytale.

I encourage, implore and even insist you follow me back to my book blog so you can find out why I think EVERYONE should read The Four Hour Workweek –

  21. Oh my GOODNESS, yes yes yes!
Harry Potter and Narnia are, like, my happy place. I grew up reading the Narnia Chronicles, and I wish I could live there. I read Harry Potter as more of a grown-up, and feel the same way.

And I COMPLETELY agree with you on P&P. I read it for the first time this year and fell in love. Perfect picks! <3
