Why NOT to Number Your Revision List

So far there are ONE HUNDRED revision points on my list.

You heard that right....100.

And I thought this rewrite was going to be easier than the last one.  Ha ha.  HA.

Some of them are easy things, like "don't make character A react by laughing on page 123."  Then again, a lot of them are more along the order of, "Describe setting X a lot more" or "Revise the relationship between characters A and B."

The part that makes it scary:  I'm going to try to get through all this in the month of June.  We'll see how it goes. ;)

Now I know why I always used bullet points.  Bullet points protect you from the fear you should be feeling.  They keep you in the dark.  Like a good friend, they lie to you when you can't handle the truth.  (Is that good?  I'm not sure.)

I'm not really that worked up.  But it is intimidating...  So I've been coping by listening to music from my childhood.  Mostly the Backstreet Boys hahaha.

Aaaaand that's really all I have time for because my computer keeps freezing on me.

How do you plan for a revision/rewrite?  Has your computer been freezing on you?  Do you enjoy the Backstreet Boys?  Do you have any ambitious plans for June?

Happy writing, happy reading, happy living!

  3. wow that is a long list. I am glad I never decided to number the endless list of revisions I usually have :)

my ambition for June is to write a lot on the MindScreens second book, get Ganesha's Blessings up in first draft and maybe publish a short e-book or two :D

    Have a wonderful day,

  4. Eee! I'd never number them. I scribble my down on paper and crumble and throw them away as I get through them. Maybe not the most organized way, but love tossing those balls into the waste basket!

    Good luck with those revisions!

    1. That system sounds lovely. The numbering was not a thought-out decision...it just kind of happened. :/

    1. Does Porthos like the Backstreet Boys, I wonder? Maybe it's an intersect point like Josh Groban :D

    2. My dad didn't let me listen to the Backstreet Boys. Josh Groban was accepted by my mother though. :)
